Objective of the Workshop
Better interaction between Technical institutions and industry is the need of the hour. This is will have great
bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and
subsequent opportunities for Internships, Research activities and for placement of young graduatingengineers
in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to
outside world, competition among industries have become stiff . To solve their engineering problems they
look up now to engg. Institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs
in companies, by exposing them to Emerging technologies and engineering methodologies. These objectives
can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the academic institute.
About the Short Term Training Programme
The main aim of workshop is to produce skilled, globally competent professionals through quality technical
education and to prepare them for immediate employment. Industries engross these knowledgeable
professionals and enhance its production capabilities by contributing the latest technologies. To produce
proficient graduates ready for the industry, it is necessary to know the requirements of the industries
through industry-institute interaction. Hence, a good and vibrant industry institute interaction to promote
education and entrepreneurship is definitely required. To build good rapport between the industry and
the institute, institutes should have Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the industries. Industryinstitute
interaction is the most preferred activity for mutual benefit and growth of industries as well as
